Hummingbirds

The wife put up a hummingbird feeder right outside the window where I sit. They are amazing birds, and so tiny.
I thought I'd give a shot at taking some photos. I was leery of shooting through the glass.
I cleaned the inside, the wife the outside. It actually was very clear.
I sat the camera on the window ledge and used the cable remote. I preset the focus in manual focus mode, set the aperture to f 6.7, and used AV mode. Due to changing light levels due to clouds, I went with an ISO of 800. Once I got the timing down, and figured out how they maneuver, it was not too bad.
These are female ruby throated hummingbirds. The males having already left to go south.
The lens was the Tamron 70-300, set at 180mm macro mode. This lens is becoming one of my all time favorites.
